Therapeutic Massage Sessions

Each session is tailored to your individual needs and preferences. Pressure and areas of focus can be adjusted to your unique requirements.

Most sessions incorporate a variety of techniques from long relaxing strokes, to deeper work where needed, and stretches to help release chronic tension. I encourage communication with my clients before, during, and after each session to create the best outcome and treatment plan. Sessions are provided on a comfortable massage therapy table, in a serene, tranquil environment.

The following styles are some of the techniques used in sessions:

Swedish Massage

A gentle, flowing massage which promotes blood flow, circulation, deep breathing, and relaxation. Slip into a state of grace and return feeling refreshed.

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage gets the knots and tension out. Designed for hard working people who need real work. Trigger points, adhesions, scar tissue, injuries, and pain from accidents are all greatly relived.

Myoskeletal Alignment Technique

This deep tissue work requires you to be an active participant in your treatment plan as we strive to achieve proper body alignment and balance. It incorporates muscle balancing routines, deep breathing, and joint stretching for treating common pain conditions. The goal is to create a length-strength balance in all soft tissues including your muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and joints. This treatment includes a 13-point myoskeletal assessment and a postural analysis to identify and correct common strain patterns before they become pain patterns. Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques may provide relief from: Scoliosis; chronic back and neck pain; headaches and migraines; SI joint dysfunction; rotator cuff injuries; trigger points (tight, sensitive knots under your skin); sciatica; and much more.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a specifically focused series of stretches designed to help those with soft tissue problems. Fascia are thin tissue surrounding every muscle in the body, and are the focus of Myofascial Release. When you are injured, your pain, and the resulting tightness, are often caused by contractions of your fascia. The treatment itself differs from person to person as the practitioner finds the individual pain within each person and helps them stretch to loosen their fascia and return them to their natural state. This is a calming process, and more than a few people have reported drifting into a calm sleep during Myofascial Release.

Active Isolated Stretching

The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of athletic stretching that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups. In traditional stretching you may hold a position for as long as 60 seconds. But that prolonged stretch decreases the blood flow within your tissue, can cause lactic acid buildup, and puts unnecessary stress on your joints. In Active Isolated Stretching we use a gentle 2-second stretch that increases oxygen and nutrition to muscles and can improve your range of motion by up to 30% in just one session!

Aromatherapy is the science and art of using whole, distilled flower and plant essences to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well being. Blends are custom crafted for each session and are personally designed for you.

Reiki is an energy technique discovered By Dr. Mikao Usui, a Buddhist monk. “Rei” and “Ki”, two Japanese words, mean “Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy”. Reiki facilitates the movement of positive energy throughout your body. Many people who receive Reiki describe a feeling of radiance across their body, and Reiki has been said to help heal anything from simple stress to sickness.
